Description

The Gosmelle is a slim, round LED downlight that sits flat against the ceiling, with a black steel rim around a white plastic diffuser. It measures 28.5cm in diameter and only 2.8cm high, so it reads as a neat disc overhead rather than a bulky fitting. The light source is an integrated LED drawing 20.5W and giving 2,400lm of warm light at 3000K, with no separate bulb to change. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in dry rooms only.

Hallways, landings, bedrooms, living rooms and home offices all suit it, anywhere you want even, general light from a low-profile ceiling fitting. At 2,400lm it gives a generous wash of light from a single fitting, and 3000K sits at the warm end of white, so rooms feel welcoming in the evening rather than clinical. The black rim draws a crisp outline against a pale ceiling, a good match for black door handles, picture frames or a monochrome scheme. Because it is so shallow, it also suits low ceilings where a pendant would hang too close to your head.

The body is steel finished in black, and the diffuser is white plastic, so you see a soft, bright face rather than individual LEDs. It is not dimmable and has no switch of its own, so it works from your wall switch at full brightness. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains, carries an energy class of F and weighs 0.875KG packed. As a wired-in mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download.
