Description

The Gosmelle is a round, slim LED downlight in white, made to sit close to the ceiling and give a wide, diffused light. It measures 28.5cm across and only 2.8cm deep, with a white steel body framing a white plastic diffuser. The LEDs are integrated, drawing 20.5W and giving 2,400lm of warm white light at 3000K, so there is no separate bulb to buy. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms only. From below, it reads as a clean white disc with a narrow rim.

Hallways and landings are a natural fit, and so are bedrooms, studies and living rooms, wherever a ceiling needs plenty of light without a hanging shade. Because the profile is so shallow, it suits low ceilings and narrow corridors where a pendant would get in the way of heads and doors. A single ceiling point giving 2,400lm goes a long way, and the 3000K warm white keeps the tone homely rather than clinical, which matters in rooms where you unwind at the end of the day. The plain white finish blends quietly into a white ceiling, so the eye goes to the room, not the light.

The body is steel, finished in white to match the white plastic diffuser, and the light runs from 220-240V mains at 50/60Hz. It has no switch of its own and is not dimmable, so it gives the same steady output every time the wall switch is used. Packed, it weighs 0.885KG.
