Description

The Gosmelle LED Downlight is a slim square ceiling panel in white, 28.5cm long, 28.5cm wide and just 2.8cm deep, so it sits close to the ceiling rather than hanging down into the room. A white steel body frames a white plastic diffuser, and the light source is an integrated LED built into the panel itself, so there is no separate bulb to fit. It draws 20.5W and gives 2,400lm of warm white light at 3000K. The IP rating is IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.

With 2,400lm coming from one panel, it is a good choice for general lighting across a whole room: a study, a home office, a hallway, a bedroom or a living room. The warm 3000K keeps a space feeling relaxed rather than clinical, which suits the evening as well as a working day at a desk. Because it is so shallow, it works well under a low ceiling, where a hanging pendant would crowd the room, and the plain square frame looks tidy and modern against a white or pale ceiling. You gain plenty of light without anything dropping into the room.

This downlight is not dimmable and has no switch of its own, so it runs from your wall switch on a 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains supply. It is a hard-wired light, so it is installed by a qualified electrician. Steel is strong and rigid, and here it forms the white body, with the plastic diffuser spreading the light across the face of the panel. Packed, it weighs 1.126KG, so it is easy to lift into place. The installation instructions come as a download, so your electrician can read them through before the day.
