Description

The Gosmelle is a slim, round LED downlight that sits on the surface of the ceiling, with a satin nickel rim framing a white diffuser. It measures 21cm across and just 2.8cm deep, so it keeps a low profile where headroom is tight. The body is steel, the diffuser is plastic and the LEDs are integrated, giving 2,000 lumens of warm white light at 3000K from 17W. With the light source part of the fitting, there is no bulb to buy or replace. It is rated IP20, and that settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.

It suits hallways, entrance halls and cloakrooms, where a light that hangs low would get in the way and a flat fitting keeps the ceiling clear. At 3000K, the warm white light has a soft, homely tone that sits comfortably beside wood, pale painted walls and darker cabinetry. The satin nickel rim adds a quiet metallic edge, a good match for brushed metal door handles and coat hooks. That 2,000 lumen output is a useful amount of light for a fitting only 2.8cm deep.
