Description

The Gosmelle is a round, slim LED downlight with a black steel body and a white opal diffuser across its face. It measures 21cm across and just 2.8cm deep, so it sits close to the ceiling and keeps a neat, low profile even where the ceiling height is modest. The light comes from an integrated LED drawing 17W and giving 2,000lm of warm white light at 3000K, a soft, homely tone for the rooms you live in every day. It carries an IP20 rating, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.

We see it doing good work in hallways, landings, kitchens, utility rooms and bedrooms, anywhere you want plenty of clear, general light from a fitting that barely draws the eye. At 2,000lm, the output is generous for a light this size, and the black rim gives a crisp outline against a pale ceiling. It sits happily alongside black handles, shelves and hooks, and it suits anyone replacing a dated ceiling light with something flatter and neater.

The body is steel, finished in black, and the diffuser is white plastic. It is not dimmable and has no switch of its own, so it runs from an ordinary wall switch; pair it with a standard switch rather than a dimmer. As a wired mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. Packed, it weighs 0.579KG.
