Description

The Gosmelle is a square LED downlight with a black steel body and a white plastic diffuser, measuring 16cm long, 16cm wide and just 2.8cm high. Its LED is integrated, so there is no bulb to buy or replace: it draws 11W and gives 1,350lm of cool white light at 4000K. The IP rating is IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms, and never in a bathroom or outdoors.

At 16cm square, this black downlight suits the smaller spaces of a home where a pendant would crowd the ceiling: a hallway, a landing, a boot room, a study or a walk-in wardrobe. Its slim profile keeps it close to the ceiling, which helps where ceilings are low or tall cupboards sit nearby. Cool white at 4000K is crisp and clear, the kind of light that makes it easy to find a coat, read a label or match a pair of shoes on a dark morning. There is no switch on the light itself: it is switched at the wall, and it is not dimmable, so it belongs on a standard switch rather than a dimmer.
