Description

The Gosmelle is a slim, round LED downlight that mounts flat against the ceiling, with a satin nickel steel rim framing a white plastic diffuser. It measures 16.6cm across and stands just 2.5cm high, so it keeps a low profile overhead. The LEDs are integrated, drawing 7.5W and giving 1,000 lumens of even, diffused light, so there is never a bulb to change. Its IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms, away from water.

We like it for hallways, landings, bedrooms, living rooms and home offices, anywhere you want clean, general light without a fitting that hangs low. Because it sits so close to the ceiling, it suits rooms where headroom is tight and a pendant would get in the way. The real gain is choice: you can set it to 2700K for a warm white that feels relaxed in the evening, 4000K for a neutral white that helps with focused tasks, or 6500K for a crisp daylight white. One fitting covers a cosy bedroom or a bright study, and the satin nickel rim sits comfortably beside brushed metal door handles and modern hardware.

The body is steel, and steel is strong and rigid. It is finished in satin nickel with a fine brushed grain that gives a soft sheen rather than a mirror shine. The white plastic diffuser covers the LEDs and spreads their light across the whole face. There is no switch on the fitting itself: it is switched at the wall, and since it is not dimmable, a standard on and off wall switch is the right partner rather than a dimmer. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains, carries an E energy class and weighs 0.47KG packed. As a wired-in mains light, it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download.
