Description

The Gorsewell is a single wall light in satin brass with a ribbed and frosted glass shade that softens the light before it reaches the room. It stands 313mm tall, spans 90mm and projects only 114mm from the wall, so it stays close to the plaster where space is tight. One G9 lampholder takes a 3W LED bulb, which gives a warm pool of light beside a bed or along a hallway rather than lighting a whole room on its own. At 0.5kg it is an easy fitting to hang, and the IP20 rating keeps it to dry indoor rooms.

That shallow projection makes this wall sconce useful where a deeper fitting would be in the way, whether that is a corridor people walk through, a landing, a shallow alcove, or either side of a bed in place of table lamps. The frosted glass keeps the capsule bulb out of direct view, which matters at eye level. It reads as contemporary without being cold, so it settles into plain modern rooms and older houses alike. We would happily fit a pair facing one another along a hallway for even spacing.

The backplate and frame are metal in a satin brass finish, warmer and quieter than polished brass, and the ribs run through the frosted glass so that they pick up the light. Dust with a dry soft cloth, lift any marks with a barely damp one, then dry at once and keep sprays and cream cleaners off the brass. It is a Class 2 fitting, so no earth connection is needed at the wall. The wider Gorsewell range carries the same ribbed glass through semi-flush ceiling lights, a linear pendant and a double wall light.
