Description
The Gorbora is a compact LED outdoor wall light: a brushed stainless steel cylinder on a slim rectangular bracket, casting its light downwards across the wall. It stands 15cm high and 6.5cm in length, and projects 9.5cm from the wall, so it sits neatly beside a door without crowding a narrow path. It takes a GU10 bulb and is rated at 2.8W with 250 lumens of light, a gentle, useful level for marking an entrance rather than floodlighting a garden. The IP44 rating settles where it can go: it is protected from splashing water, so it lives happily outdoors on a house wall.
We would place one either side of a front door, beside a back door or along a garden wall, where the downward glow picks out the step and the threshold. Because corner mounting is possible, it also works on the outside corner of a house, lighting the edge of a drive or a side passage. The plain cylinder and squared bracket look at home on brick or render, and a matching pair gives a house front a tidy, balanced look. It suits anyone who wants an entrance lit well without a large or showy fitting on the wall.
The body is stainless steel, and stainless steel resists rust, which matters on a wall that takes the weather all year. There is no switch on the light itself, as it is switched at the wall. It runs on mains power at 220 to 240V, and because it is a wired mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician. The installation instructions come as a download, and the packed weight is 0.572KG. Our tip: when you use a pair either side of a door, set them at the same height so the two pools of light match on the wall.
