Description

The Gorbora is an LED outdoor wall light in stainless steel. It is a slim, brushed cylinder on a neat rectangular bracket that throws light both upwards and downwards. It stands 20cm high, has a length of 6.5cm and projects 9.5cm from the wall, so it sits close to the wall beside a door or along a narrow passage. It takes two GU10 lamps rated at 2.8W each, with 250 lumens from each light. Its IP44 rating means it is protected from splashing water, which settles the big question: it can live outdoors on a house wall or in the garden.

On either side of a front door, beside a garage or along a garden wall, the twin beams wash the surface above and below with light, picking out the texture of render, brick or stone after dark. Corner mounting is possible, so it can also go on a corner of the house. It suits a bathroom too, where a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone. The brushed metal looks at home against grey, white or painted walls and next to modern doors and window frames, which makes it an easy choice for a new build or an older home.

The body is stainless steel, finished in the colour of the metal itself, and stainless steel resists rust, which counts for a lot on an exposed wall. There is no switch on the light itself. It is switched at the wall, so it comes on from a wall switch rather than a button on the fitting. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains and, as a wired-in light, it is installed by a qualified electrician. Packed, it weighs 0.641KG. The installation instructions are available as a download, so they can be read before the day of fitting.
