Description

This stoneware planter carries a warm message for the friend who has always cheered you on, with the words "GOOD FRIENDS give you the strength to spread your wings" arranged around a butterfly framed by small flowers and hearts. It is a round pot with a gently scalloped rim, finished in off white with multi-coloured decal artwork, and it sits on its own matching saucer, decorated with a band of tiny motifs including a hedgehog, a bee, a strawberry, a bow and little flowers. At 11cm tall and 9.5cm across, it is a compact size that suits a single small plant.

We think it makes a thoughtful thank you gift for a friend, or for a teacher at the end of term, because the words say something kind without needing a card to do it. Pot up a small succulent, a cutting or a little herb, and it becomes a present that keeps growing long after it has been unwrapped. It sits happily on a windowsill, a desk at home or at work, a bedside table or a bookshelf, where the butterfly brings a cheerful touch to a quiet corner. At only 9.5cm across, it fits narrow sills and busy shelves where a larger pot would crowd the space.

Both the pot and the saucer are stoneware, a sturdy ceramic, with the design applied as a decal on the off white surface, so the message and the little motifs read clearly. The saucer sits neatly beneath the pot and gives it a finished look on a shelf or sill. To keep it looking fresh, dust it with a soft dry cloth and wipe it over with a damp cloth when needed. For an easy gift, pot up a small plant, tie a ribbon around the pot and add a handwritten note, and it is ready to hand over.
