Description

The Golden Cage is a height-adjustable LED wall light built around five stacked wire sphere frames in a gold finish, suspended on a pulley mechanism from a circular wall plate. An integrated 17W 3000K LED runs through the centre of the spheres inside a flexible silicone tube with a white acrylic diffuser, creating a vertical column of warm light framed by the gold cage structure.

Designed for spaces with high ceilings or double-height walls, the Golden Cage suits entrance halls, stairwells, dining room feature walls and hotel corridors where a vertical accent is needed. The pulley system allows the drop to be adjusted between 69.8cm and 218.8cm on installation, making the fitting adaptable to different ceiling heights and hanging positions. The wire spheres cast geometric shadows onto adjacent walls when lit, adding a secondary decorative layer beyond the direct light output.

The gold-finished metal frame gives the fitting a warm metallic accent that pairs with both contemporary and classical interiors. Each sphere is formed from curved wire ribs that meet at top and bottom, creating an open cage structure that allows light to pass through while maintaining a defined sculptural form. The 22.2cm length and 13.9cm width of the sphere assembly keeps the fitting visually present without overwhelming narrow hallways or alcoves. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations.

The integrated LED is housed inside the silicone tube and cannot be replaced separately, so the entire light source assembly is considered the lamp. The 3000K colour temperature provides warm white light that complements gold finishes and warm-toned interiors. The wall plate measures approximately 13.9cm diameter and conceals the pulley housing and cable entry point.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The integrated LED is housed inside the silicone tube and is not user-replaceable. The entire LED assembly is considered the light source and is rated for approximately 25,000 hours of use.

What ceiling height is needed?

The fitting works in spaces with ceiling heights between approximately 2.4m and 4.5m. The pulley mechanism allows the drop to be adjusted between 69.8cm and 218.8cm during installation, making it adaptable to different wall heights and hanging positions.

Can it be installed on a sloped wall?

The fitting is designed for vertical wall mounting. Installation on angled or sloped surfaces may affect the alignment of the sphere cages and the stability of the pulley mechanism.

How is the gold finish cleaned?

Wipe the metal frame with a dry microfibre cloth. For fingerprints or marks on the gold finish, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the wire structure or using household sprays that may dull the metallic coating.
