Description

The Glowlight is a 40mm recessed LED downlight with a white metal ring that sits flush with plasterboard or panel ceilings. The integrated LED provides 3000K warm white light from a central circular aperture, casting a soft, even pool of light downward without visible bulbs or fittings once installed.

Designed for kitchens, hallways, bathrooms (zones outside the shower enclosure) and low-ceiling spaces where compact downlighting is needed, the 40mm diameter makes this one of the smallest recessed LED fittings in the Ideal Lux range. The recessed mounting requires a cut-out in the ceiling surface, with the white ring concealing the edges of the aperture and the LED module sitting behind the plane of the ceiling. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor zones only.

The white powder-coated metal ring provides a neutral finish that sits comfortably against white or off-white ceilings, blending into the surface rather than creating a contrasting accent. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and rated for 3000K colour temperature, providing warm ambient light suited to residential spaces. The compact footprint allows multiple Glowlight units to be grouped in a line or grid without visual clutter, making it useful for illuminating corridor runs or galley kitchens where ceiling space is limited.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating means the Glowlight is suitable only for dry indoor zones. In bathrooms, it can be used in areas outside the shower enclosure and away from direct water contact, such as over a vanity unit or in a separate toilet cubicle.

No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for a long operational life, typically 20,000-30,000 hours depending on usage patterns.

What ceiling void depth is required?
