Description

The Gloara is an 80cm outdoor bollard light finished in anthracite powder-coated metal with a 205mm diameter head containing a white plastic diffuser. The diffuser houses four G9 bulb sockets (bulbs sold separately) and directs light downwards onto pathways, driveways and garden borders. The IP44 rating protects internal components from dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making the bollard suitable for year-round outdoor use in UK weather.

Designed for pathway lighting and perimeter illumination in residential gardens, hospitality terraces and commercial landscaping, the 80cm height positions the light source above typical plantings and ground-level obstructions. The downward beam pattern minimises glare for pedestrians while providing functional visibility along walkways and steps. The bollard requires a buried cable run and a stable base mounting, either surface-fixed to paving or embedded into a concrete footing for softer ground.

The anthracite finish is a dark grey metal tone that reads close to black in low light but shows a softer charcoal appearance in daylight. The powder-coat process fuses a polymer resin to the metal substrate, providing better UV and corrosion resistance than wet paint finishes. The white diffuser prevents direct view of the bulbs when passing the bollard, reducing light pollution and directing output downwards rather than sideways into neighbouring properties or planting beds.

The four-bulb configuration with G9 halogen or LED capsules allows total output to be scaled by bulb choice — four 3W LEDs deliver approximately 1,200 lumens, while four 40W halogens push 2,000+ lumens for higher-traffic areas. Dimmable bulbs paired with a compatible outdoor dimmer system allow light levels to be reduced in late evening or raised for events and gatherings.
