Description

The Glistenis is an 82mm recessed downlight with an integrated 21W LED module delivering 2700K warm white light through a grey aluminium housing. The LED sits behind a deep-set cylindrical baffle that minimises glare and directs light downward in a controlled beam, making this a fixed recessed fitting rather than an adjustable spotlight.

Designed for ceiling installation in living rooms, hallways, hospitality lobbies and office reception areas, the Glistenis requires a ceiling void depth of at least 100mm to accommodate the heatsink and driver assembly visible in the image. The 500mm cable length allows the driver to be positioned away from the fitting body during installation. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor environments — it is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor canopies.

The grey aluminium finish on the visible bezel and baffle provides a neutral tone that pairs with both white and darker ceilings without creating strong colour contrast. The finned heatsink at the rear of the fitting dissipates heat from the 21W LED without requiring active cooling, keeping the fitting silent during operation. The non-dimmable LED operates on 230V mains via the integral driver, removing the need for separate control gear.

Is the Glistenis dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver is non-dimmable and operates on 230V mains only. Attempting to use this fitting with a dimmer switch will cause flickering or damage to the driver.

What ceiling void depth is required?

A minimum 100mm ceiling void is needed to accommodate the heatsink assembly and driver. The 82mm diameter refers to the visible bezel — the fitting body above the ceiling is larger.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means this fitting is suitable for dry indoor environments only. Bathrooms, wet rooms and outdoor installations require IP44 or higher.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED module is integrated into the fitting and not user-replaceable. The 5-year warranty covers LED failure, and typical LED lifespan exceeds 25,000 hours of operation.
