Description

The Glintis is a 500mm LED bollard light with an anthracite powder-coated aluminium column and an opal polycarbonate diffuser cylinder. An integrated 9.5W LED inside the diffuser emits 3000K warm white light, designed to illuminate garden pathways, driveway edges and patio perimeters without creating glare or hotspots.

Built for permanent outdoor installation, the Glintis carries an IP44 rating against rain and splash water, making it suitable for open gardens, patios and pathways exposed to typical UK weather. The 120mm diameter base plate fixes to a solid surface or paving slab using ground anchors or expansion bolts, and the mains cable runs through the base into buried conduit. The 500mm height positions the light source above typical ground-level planting without towering over low borders.

The anthracite finish is a dark grey powder coat over die-cast aluminium, resistant to fading and corrosion in coastal and urban environments. The opal diffuser spreads the LED output evenly around the column perimeter, providing 360-degree illumination that lights both the path surface and adjacent planting. The non-dimmable 9.5W LED is factory-sealed inside the fitting and does not require bulb replacement during the warranty period.

No. The 9.5W LED is factory-sealed inside the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for the full warranty period and should outlast typical usage over several years.

What ground surface does it mount to?

The 120mm base plate is designed to fix to solid surfaces such as concrete, paving slabs or compacted hardcore using expansion bolts or ground anchors. Soft soil or loose gravel will not provide adequate stability.

Is it suitable for coastal locations?

The anthracite powder-coated aluminium construction resists corrosion in coastal environments, but the IP44 rating means it should be positioned away from direct salt spray and wave exposure. Periodic rinsing with fresh water helps maintain the finish in coastal gardens.

How is the cable routed?

The mains cable enters through the base plate and should be run in buried conduit to a junction box or outdoor-rated transformer. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in compliance with BS 7671 wiring regulations.
