Description

The Glim is a 2 light bar spotlight with two independently adjustable GU10 heads mounted on a 310mm white rectangular backplate. Each head rotates and tilts on a ball-and-socket joint, allowing light to be directed onto artwork, feature walls, worktops or seating areas. The heads accept standard GU10 LED bulbs (sold separately), giving control over beam angle, colour temperature and output.

Designed for wall or ceiling mounting in kitchens, living rooms, hallways and retail spaces, the Glim provides directed task lighting without needing multiple fixed downlights. The 310mm length suits spaces above kitchen counters, flanking doorways, or mounted on walls to highlight framed prints and display shelving. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations — it is not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use.

The white powder-coated metal finish resists minor knocks and pairs cleanly with white ceilings, painted brick and light-toned interiors. The 120mm projection from wall or ceiling gives enough standoff for the heads to angle without shadowing the backplate. Each head houses a GU10 socket behind a reflector cup that focuses the bulb output into a controlled beam. When paired with dimmable GU10 LEDs and a compatible wall dimmer, the Glim supports brightness adjustment from full task output down to low ambient levels.

What bulbs does the Glim take?

The Glim uses two GU10 bulbs, sold separately. Most users fit GU10 LED bulbs between 4W and 7W with a narrow or medium beam angle (38° or 60°) for directed task light. Colour temperature between 2700K and 4000K suits most domestic and retail applications.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself supports dimming. To dim the Glim you need to fit dimmable GU10 bulbs and connect the fitting to a compatible GU10 LED dimmer switch. Standard on/off switches will not allow brightness adjustment.

Can it be ceiling-mounted as well as wall-mounted?

Yes. The backplate fixes to a standard ceiling rose or wall back box. The heads tilt and rotate on both axes, so the fitting works equally on walls or ceilings depending on where directed light is needed.

Is the Glim suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting has no protection against moisture and must only be used in dry indoor locations. For bathrooms you need a spotlight with a minimum IP44 or IP65 rating.
