Description

The Glenbeigh is a 270mm globe pendant light built from corrosion-proof black polymer, designed for outdoor installation under covered porches, patios and entrance canopies. The pendant hangs on a black chain from a matching canopy, with the chain length adjustable between 535mm and 730mm drop during installation. An opal polycarbonate diffuser wraps the E27 bulb fitting, protecting it from rain and dust while softening the light output.

Rated IP44, the Glenbeigh provides protection against rain ingress and airborne particles, making it suitable for covered outdoor positions where the fitting is sheltered from direct weather exposure. The E27 socket accepts standard Edison screw bulbs up to 60W (sold separately), allowing the choice of warm-white LED, filament or halogen bulbs depending on the required light temperature and output. The chain suspension keeps the globe centred under the canopy and conceals the cable run from canopy to bulb holder.

The black polymer construction resists corrosion in coastal and high-moisture environments where metal fittings would oxidise over time. The 270mm diameter globe gives sufficient presence over a front door or porch bench without overwhelming smaller entrance areas. The opal polycarbonate diffuser creates even 360-degree light distribution, removing shadows beneath the pendant and providing clear visibility on steps or pathways leading to the entrance.

Can this be used in fully exposed outdoor locations?

The IP44 rating provides protection against rain and dust, but the Glenbeigh is designed for covered outdoor positions such as porches, canopies and verandas where it is sheltered from direct weather exposure. It should not be installed in fully exposed locations where rain hits the fitting from multiple angles.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 8-12W and 2700K-3000K for porch or entrance lighting.

Is the chain length adjustable?

Yes. The chain allows the pendant to be hung at drops between 535mm and 730mm, adjusted during installation by shortening the chain to suit the ceiling height and required clearance beneath.

How does the polymer handle coastal environments?

The black polymer construction is corrosion-proof and designed specifically for coastal and high-moisture environments where metal fittings would rust or oxidise. The polymer will not corrode from salt air, making it suitable for seaside installations under cover.
