Description

This glass ball table lamp pairs a milky white glass globe with a rounded bronze base, and a slim bronze band circles the ball to tie the two together. When the LED is on, the glass glows from within. When it is off, the white ball and brushed bronze still look neat and considered on a shelf. The lamp stands 21cm tall and measures 11cm wide and 11cm deep, so it takes up very little room while still drawing the eye. It is a USB LED touch lamp, so it connects by USB and works with a touch rather than a hunt for a switch in the dark.

Its small footprint suits a bedside table, where the touch control is handy last thing at night. It also suits a desk, a dressing table or a hallway console that needs a little light without a bulky shade. In a living room it brings a soft glow to a bookshelf or a side table, and the bronze and white sit happily with warm wood, cream walls and other bronze or brass-toned pieces. This is a lamp for dry rooms indoors, so keep it to bedrooms, living spaces, studies and hallways rather than anywhere damp. We like it as a gentle accent light for evenings, when a big overhead light feels too much.

The glass ball sits on top of the rounded bronze base, with the bronze band set around the ball. To keep it looking its best, switch it off and disconnect it before cleaning, then dust the glass and the base with a soft dry cloth. Never use water or sprays near the USB connection. Handle the glass ball with the usual care, and stand the lamp on a level, steady surface. Set it at the end of a bookshelf or on a dressing table, and it makes a thoughtful present for anyone who likes a softly lit corner.
