Description

The Glaera is a 90mm cube outdoor LED wall light with an integrated 6W 3000K LED, die-cast aluminium body and white powder-coated finish. The IP65 rating protects the internal electronics from rain and dust, making it suitable for exposed outdoor walls, pathways and covered porches. Light exits through a tempered glass diffuser at the base of the cube, directing downwards to create a pool of warm white light on the ground below.

Designed for residential and commercial exterior use, the Glaera works on house entrances, garage walls, garden pathway lighting and patio perimeters where controlled downward light is needed without glare. The 102mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting compact, allowing installation on narrow walls or beside doors without obstructing movement. The non-dimmable LED outputs 3000K warm white light, which reads as soft rather than stark when viewed at night.

The die-cast aluminium construction gives the fitting structural strength and corrosion resistance in outdoor conditions. The white powder-coated finish is baked onto the metal, forming a UV-resistant layer that maintains colour stability in direct sunlight. The internal reflector behind the LED directs the majority of light downwards with a small amount of backwash onto the wall, creating a subtle halo effect around the fitting itself.

The compact 90mm length and width make the Glaera suitable for spacing at 1.5-2m intervals on pathway runs or boundary walls where multiple fittings create consistent ground-level lighting. The 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux covers both the LED module and the housing.

Can this be used in fully exposed positions?

Yes. The IP65 rating provides protection against heavy rain, snow and dust ingress, making the Glaera suitable for exposed external walls. The rating does not protect against submersion or high-pressure water jets, but standard outdoor weather conditions are well within the IP65 specification.

Does the light shine upwards or downwards?

Downwards primarily. The tempered glass diffuser at the base of the cube directs the majority of light onto the ground or wall beneath the fitting. A small amount of backwash illuminates the wall behind the fitting, creating a subtle halo around the cube.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 6W LED is integrated into the fitting and cannot be replaced by the user. Ideal Lux warrants the LED module for 5 years, during which the entire unit would be replaced if the LED fails.
