Description

A slim white cylinder that puts light exactly where you aim it, with the LED and its driver already built in. It draws 9W and gives a warm 3000K light, closer in feel to a soft household lamp than to a cold retail glare. The body stands 17cm tall on a neat round base, so it reads as a tidy tube rather than a bulky can. It is not a dimming fitting, so it comes on at full brightness and holds there.

We reach for this one where a defined pool of light matters more than filling a whole room: above a mirror, over a shower recess, in a line down a hallway, or picking out a run of open shelving. It is sealed well enough to shrug off splashes and steam, which makes it a sound choice for bathrooms, shower rooms and cloakrooms, and it works just as happily over a kitchen worktop or a utility bench. The warm tone flatters plaster, painted timber and warm stone.

The finish is white right through, from the tube to the base, so it sits quietly against a pale ceiling and disappears into a white wall. Keeping it looking right takes very little: let it go cold, then run a soft cloth over the body and the lens, and keep bathroom sprays and cleaning chemicals off the surface, as they can dull the paint. It is wired for ordinary mains use in the home. It carries a three year warranty.
