Description

The Gisela is a single-pendant light with a matt black fabric shade and a satin brass metal collar, suspended from a black cable and matt black ceiling canopy. The shade houses a single E27 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately) and the cable allows height adjustment between 40cm and 150cm from the ceiling.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables, and breakfast bars where single or multiple pendants provide task and ambient lighting, the Gisela works as a solo accent over a small table or in multiples along a linear surface. The 14cm diameter shade and 24cm drop keep the fitting compact enough for tighter spaces, while the adjustable cable height means it can be positioned 60-75cm above a worktop or table depending on ceiling height and the required pool of downlight.

The matt black fabric shade diffuses direct glare from the bulb and provides a soft edge to the downlight pool, while the satin brass collar between the shade and the cable adds a warm metallic accent that pairs with brass cabinet hardware, taps, or warm-toned interiors. The matte finish on the black fabric absorbs rather than reflects ambient light, giving the pendant a recessive profile when not lit. At 0.35kg the fitting can be installed on standard UK ceiling roses without additional reinforcement.

The pendant takes a standard E27 bulb up to 20W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient dining or kitchen task lighting.

Can the height be adjusted after installation?

The cable length is adjustable during installation between 40cm and 150cm. Once the cable is cut to length and wired, further adjustment requires re-accessing the ceiling rose and re-wiring.

Is it suitable for bathroom use?

No. The IP20 rating means the Gisela is rated for dry indoor use only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor locations, or any area where moisture or direct water contact is possible.

How many pendants are needed over a kitchen island?

For a typical 1.2-1.5m kitchen island, two Gisela pendants spaced 40-50cm apart provide balanced task lighting. For longer islands over 2m, three pendants are more effective.
