Description
This gingerbread house light-up decoration brings the look of a freshly iced Christmas bake to a shelf or mantelpiece, made in resin. The walls are a warm gingerbread brown with a fine sparkle, and the roof is thick with white icing, edged in red and white candy-cane stripes and dotted with little red and green sweets. A brick chimney, a small dormer window and white shuttered windows sit above a front door hung with a green wreath and framed by candy-cane columns. Two snowy fir trees and a few wrapped presents finish the scene on an iced base. It stands 25.5cm high, 27.1cm wide and 14.3cm deep.
Christmas is its season, and it looks at home wherever the family gathers: on a mantelpiece, a sideboard, a bookcase or the middle of the dining table. When the LED is on, the windows glow a soft amber, so the little house looks lived in on a dark December evening and brings a cosy note to a hallway or a living room corner. It is for dry rooms indoors, so keep it on a shelf or table away from steam and damp.
Power comes from two LR44 button cell batteries, and both are included, so the house is ready to light as soon as it is unpacked. The polyresin body is moulded with all of its icing, sweets and trim in place, so this is a gingerbread house that stays on display rather than on the plate. To keep it looking its best, dust it now and then with a soft dry cloth, keep it away from water and store it somewhere dry once the decorations come down. It makes a warm Christmas gift, and it settles happily into a festive scene of little houses and trees.
