Description

The Gibson is a 1626mm traditional floor lamp with a turned dark brown column and a swing arm that positions the single E27 bulb fitting where it's needed. A desert linen fabric shade sits at the head, diffusing light downwards and outwards across a reading position or seating area. The arm pivots from a decorative urn-shaped section midway up the column, allowing the shade to swing left or right from the base.

Designed for reading beside an armchair or sofa, the Gibson's swing arm gives directional control without moving the lamp itself. The 1626mm height places the shade at typical shoulder-to-head height when seated, while the 410mm x 510mm footprint and weighted base provide stability on carpets and hard floors. The lamp suits living rooms, bedrooms and studies where task lighting is needed alongside traditional furnishings.

The dark brown finish is applied to a turned metal column with decorative ribbing at the base, middle urn section, and finial. The lamp takes a standard E27 Edison screw bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for reading.

How far does the arm swing?

The arm pivots from the urn section midway up the column, allowing the shade to swing left or right from the base. The exact arc depends on room layout and furniture position, but the arm extends the shade approximately 400-500mm from the centre of the base when fully extended to one side.

Is the shade height adjustable?

The desert linen shade is a fitted fabric component. Dust can be removed with a soft brush or vacuum attachment on low suction. For deeper cleaning, spot-clean gently with a barely-damp cloth and distilled water, avoiding saturation. Replacement shades may be available directly from Feiss.
