Description
The Geomia is a 90x120cm bas-relief painting built from layered EVA foam sheets arranged into raised geometric forms and finished in a soft ivory acrylic paint. The composition divides the surface into a grid of intersecting circles and curved segments, with each shape raised 3-4mm above a neutral grey-beige ground, creating low relief that catches shadow and changes character with the light angle throughout the day.
Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and entrance halls where wall art provides both visual and tactile interest, the Geomia works in both horizontal and vertical orientations depending on wall proportion and furniture placement. The black polystyrene frame adds 4.5cm total depth from the wall once hung, giving the piece a boxed presentation that contains the composition cleanly without overwhelming adjacent furniture. At 4.2kg the painting requires two standard wall fixings rated for 5kg or above.
Each EVA layer is hand-cut and adhered to the backing board before the acrylic paint is applied, so minor surface variation between pieces is normal. The matte ivory finish diffuses light rather than reflecting it, keeping the artwork restful rather than attention-grabbing, while the raised forms add dimensionality that flat canvas cannot achieve. The neutral palette pairs with Scandinavian whites, warm Mediterranean ochres, and cooler contemporary greys without competing for colour dominance.
Schuller produces this piece in Spain as part of their textured wall art collection, which focuses on material exploration through foam, resin and layered acrylic techniques rather than traditional painting methods. The Geomia's geometric grid structure makes it particularly suited to modern interiors where symmetry, proportion and architectural form are already design principles.

Frequently Asked
Can it be hung horizontally or vertically?
Yes. The composition is designed to work in both orientations. The hanging fixings on the reverse allow the painting to be mounted in whichever direction best suits the wall proportion and adjacent furniture.
What material is the raised texture made from?
The geometric forms are cut from EVA foam sheets, layered and adhered to the backing board, then finished with ivory acrylic paint. EVA is a closed-cell foam that holds crisp edges and provides lightweight dimensionality without warping over time.
How is the painting cleaned?
Dust lightly with a soft dry brush or microfibre cloth. The matte acrylic finish is porous, so avoid wet cleaning or household sprays. If marks occur, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water may be used sparingly, but do not soak the surface.
What wall fixings are needed?
At 4.2kg, the painting requires two wall fixings rated for at least 5kg each. The exact fixing type depends on the wall construction — masonry walls typically use screws and plugs, plasterboard walls require cavity anchors or toggle bolts.
