Gelid Crystal Wall Light - Polished Chrome

The Gelid is a crystal wall light built around a polished chrome cylindrical frame holding faceted crystal glass prisms arranged in vertical columns. The single E27 bulb sits inside the cylinder, casting light through the cut crystal to create refracted patterns on adjacent walls and ceilings. The chrome frame measures 147mm wide by 100mm deep with a 212mm height projection from the wall.

Designed for hallways, living rooms and bedrooms where ambient decorative lighting is needed without a ceiling pendant, the Gelid mounts directly to a standard UK back box on a vertical wall surface. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations away from moisture. The 60W maximum E27 fitting accepts LED, halogen or filament bulbs (sold separately), allowing control over colour temperature and brightness to suit the room.

Each crystal prism is individually faceted and held within the chrome frame by metal clips that allow light to pass through the cut edges. The polished chrome finish provides high reflectivity, amplifying the light output from the bulb and intensifying the sparkle effect from the crystal. The compact footprint suits narrow hallways and alcoves where larger wall lights would dominate the space, while the vertical orientation draws the eye upward in rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights.

What bulb does the Gelid take?

The fitting accepts a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K to achieve the best sparkle effect through the crystal without excessive heat.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Gelid is suitable only for dry indoor locations. It cannot be installed in bathrooms, shower rooms or other areas where moisture or water splashes are present.

How is the light distributed?

The E27 bulb sits inside the crystal cylinder, so light radiates outward through the faceted prisms, creating refracted patterns on adjacent walls and ceilings. The effect is primarily decorative ambient light rather than directed task lighting.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb you choose. LED bulbs must be marked as dimmable and paired with an LED-compatible dimmer switch. Halogen and filament bulbs are generally dimmable with standard dimmers.
