Description

The Gedrez is a set of ten round LED downlights in white, made to sit recessed into a ceiling so that only a slim white bezel and a clear lens show. Each light pairs a white plastic body with a transparent plastic shade over integrated LEDs, drawing 4.9W and giving 520lm. They measure 9cm across, need a 6.8cm cut-out and ask for a recess depth of just 2.5cm, which matters when the void behind a ceiling is shallow. The rating is IP20, so these downlights belong indoors in dry rooms, well away from bathrooms and any place where water might splash.

With ten in the set, there are enough for a run across a living room, bedroom, hallway or landing, without buying several packs and hoping they match. Each head tilts within its bezel, so you can angle the beam towards a picture, a bookcase or a reading chair rather than straight down at the floor. The colour temperature can be set to 2700K for a warm, cosy glow, 4000K for a neutral white that suits a study, or 6500K for a crisp daylight tone. That choice lets one set serve a relaxed sitting room as readily as a bright home office.

The lights are not dimmable and have no switch of their own, so they work from your existing wall switch, and a standard on and off switch suits them better than a dimmer. They run on a 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains supply and carry an energy class of F. Blue spring clips on either side hold each light snugly in its cut-out, leaving a neat white ring across the ceiling. As a wired-in mains light, the set is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. Because every light shares the same white finish and the same settings, the ceilings look consistent from room to room.
