Galaxia 12cm Concrete Pendant Light - White & Red Cement

The Galaxia is a 12cm concrete pendant light with a white dome canopy and a red cement spherical shade suspended on a steel cable. The shade is cast from natural cement, giving it a textured surface that shows the material's aggregate and subtle tonal variation from piece to piece. The E27 fitting inside the sphere takes standard bulbs up to 60W (sold separately).

Designed for kitchens, utility rooms, entrance halls and dining areas where compact task or accent lighting is needed, the Galaxia works as a single pendant over a breakfast bar or in multiples spaced along a kitchen island. The 3210mm maximum drop allows the pendant to be adjusted during installation to suit ceiling heights from 2.4m up to higher vaulted or commercial spaces. The white dome fits standard UK ceiling roses and the cable run is concealed within the suspension wire.

The red cement base is not painted — the colour comes from pigment mixed into the cement during casting, so the finish will not chip or fade with age. The concrete construction gives the pendant a substantial 1.2kg weight that feels stable on the cable without needing additional ballast. Each Galaxia shows different surface texture depending on how the cement set in the mould, so no two pendants are identical. The raw material finish pairs well with industrial, Scandinavian and modern rustic interiors where exposed brick, steel or natural wood are present.

What bulb does the Galaxia take?

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient light, or a higher-output bulb for task lighting over worktops.

Is the Galaxia dimmable?

Yes, provided you use a dimmable E27 bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch. The pendant itself has no electronics — dimmer compatibility depends entirely on the bulb you choose.

Does the red cement colour vary between pendants?

Yes. The red colour comes from pigment mixed into the cement during casting, and the surface texture varies depending on how the cement set in the mould. Each pendant shows slightly different aggregate distribution and tonal variation. This is a feature of the handcrafted process, not a defect.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The drop is set during installation by cutting the cable to the desired length and terminating it at the ceiling rose. Once installed, the drop cannot be easily adjusted without re-wiring. Measure your required drop carefully before fitting.
