Description

The Funk Wide is a 36cm metal pendant light with a low, broad conical shade finished in matt black on the outside and beaten gold on the inside. A single E27 lamp holder sits inside the shade on a 150cm black fabric cable, suspended from a slim black ceiling cap. The shade height is 17cm, giving the fitting a wide, low silhouette that throws light downward through the gold interior.

The pendant suits kitchen islands, breakfast bars and dining tables where directed downlight is wanted without a tall fitting blocking sightlines. With a 36cm diameter and only 17cm of shade height, three or four units hung in a row over a 1.8-2.4m island stay visually contained. The 150cm cable can be shortened on installation to set the bottom of the shade 700-800mm above a worktop or table surface.

The matt black exterior and beaten gold interior pair industrial form with a warmer reflective lining, so the inside of the shade glows amber when the bulb is lit. The fitting takes any standard E27 bulb up to the rating marked on the lamp holder (sold separately); a clear or amber GLS filament bulb suits the style and is partly visible from below the shade rim. The metal shade is solid enough to give the pendant a substantial presence without making it heavy on the ceiling fixing.

The Funk Wide takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A clear or amber GLS filament bulb suits the industrial style of the shade and works well with the gold interior, as the bulb is partly visible from below the rim.

Can the cable be shortened?

Yes. The 150cm black fabric cable can be shortened on installation to set the drop you need. Over a kitchen island or dining table the bottom of the shade typically sits 700-800mm above the surface.
