Description
The Fungi is a 40cm table lamp built around a cylindrical white marble base topped with a hand-blown amber glass shade in a mushroom-like dome profile. The marble column measures 30cm in diameter and weighs 5.6kg, giving the lamp a low centre of gravity and stable footprint on sideboards, consoles and bedside tables. An E27 bulb inside the amber glass casts warm light through the tinted shade, turning the glass itself into a diffuser.
Designed for living rooms, hallways and bedrooms where ambient rather than task lighting is needed, the Fungi suits console tables in entrance halls, low sideboards flanking sofas, and bedside tables where directed reading light is not required. The 40cm total height sits below typical eye level when seated, so the lamp provides background glow without creating glare. The warm amber tone of the glass shifts the light temperature towards orange-gold tones regardless of the bulb colour chosen.
Each white marble base shows different mineral veining and tonal variation depending on the section of stone it was cut from, so no two Fungi lamps look identical. The marble is left unsealed with a natural matt finish that shows the stone's texture and grain. The blown glass shade is hand-formed, so minor variations in thickness and tone between individual pieces are normal. The lamp ships with a bulb included and uses a standard UK 3-pin plug.

Frequently Asked
Does the lamp come with a bulb?
Yes. The Fungi ships with a bulb included. The E27 lampholder accepts standard Edison screw bulbs up to 20W if you prefer to replace the supplied bulb with a different colour temperature or brightness.
Does the marble vary between pieces?
Yes. Each base is cut from natural white marble, so the veining, tonal variation and mineral patterns differ between individual lamps. This is a feature of the natural material, not a defect.
How is the marble cleaned?
Marble is porous and softer than granite. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or acidic cleaners which can etch the surface.
Is it suitable for use as a reading lamp?
No. The Fungi provides ambient background light rather than directed task light. The amber glass diffuses light in all directions and the 40cm height sits below typical eye level when seated, making it unsuitable for focused reading. For bedside reading, pair the Fungi with a separate adjustable task lamp.
