Description

The Hinkley Fulton is a 457mm flush ceiling light built around an open tapered cage frame in bronze metalwork with a central brass fitting holding four E27 bulb positions. The cage structure runs from a wide 457mm square base down to a narrower central hub, creating an open geometric profile that leaves the bulbs fully visible and allows light to project in all directions without a glass diffuser.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where a pendant would hang too low, the Fulton provides high-output task and ambient light from a 182mm-tall fitting. The four-bulb configuration suits kitchens, hallways, utility rooms and bedrooms needing bright, functional illumination. Each E27 socket accepts bulbs up to 60W (sold separately), giving control over light temperature and output depending on whether LED, halogen or decorative filament bulbs are fitted.

The two-tone finish pairs a dark bronze outer cage with a warmer antique brass central hub and socket assembly. This combination sits comfortably in both industrial and traditional interiors, working with exposed brick, painted plaster and wood-panelled ceilings. What ceiling height is needed?

The fitting projects 182mm from the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or above. In lower rooms the open cage design and exposed bulbs keep the fitting visually light despite its size.

Can it be fitted to a plasterboard ceiling?

Yes, provided suitable plasterboard fixings or a ceiling joist is used. The fitting weight is modest due to the hollow-section cage frame, but the 457mm footprint requires secure fixing at the central rose position.

Is the Fulton dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulbs fitted. If you use dimmable LED or halogen bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch, the Fulton can be dimmed. The fitting itself has no electronic components that would prevent dimming.
