Description

The Fulton is a single-light pendant from Hinkley built around an open tapered cage frame in bronze with a central brass rod and lampholder. The 254mm-wide cage tapers from a wider top to a narrower base, and the single E27 bulb (sold separately) hangs exposed within the frame rather than behind glass, making the bulb choice part of the visible design.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and hallway positions where the pendant hangs at eye level from a distance, the Fulton provides task and accent light without blocking sightlines. The adjustable drop of 380-1294mm allows the pendant to be set between 600-900mm above a worktop or 700-800mm above a dining table depending on ceiling height. The bronze cage is powder-coated steel with a matte finish, and the brass rod is uncoated solid brass that will develop a natural patina over time unless polished.

The two-tone bronze and brass combination pairs well with both traditional interiors (where it picks up antique furniture finishes) and industrial-leaning contemporary spaces (where the open frame and exposed bulb read as utilitarian). The 311mm cage height and 254mm width give the pendant enough presence to anchor a kitchen island or dining table without overwhelming smaller rooms. Fitting to a standard UK ceiling rose is straightforward, with the drop adjusted during installation by shortening the cable and chain inside the brass rod.

What bulb works best with the Fulton?

The pendant takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Because the bulb is visible within the open cage, most users choose either a decorative Edison-style filament bulb or a clear LED filament bulb in warm white (2700K) to complement the industrial aesthetic. The bulb is sold separately.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

No. The drop is adjusted during installation by shortening the cable and chain inside the brass rod before final fixing. Once installed, the height is set. Choose the appropriate drop for your room during fitting.

Will the brass tarnish over time?

Yes. The brass rod is uncoated solid brass that will develop a natural patina over time, darkening slightly and losing some of its initial shine. This is a characteristic of the material. If you prefer the original bright brass finish, occasional polishing with brass cleaner will restore it.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 380mm minimum drop suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above when hanging the pendant 700-800mm above a dining table. For kitchen islands the pendant typically hangs 600-900mm above the worktop, which also requires a minimum 2.4m ceiling. Lower ceilings can accommodate the Fulton if used as general room lighting rather than over a work surface.
