Description

The Freyr is a 150mm square outdoor wall light with a graphite powder-coated die-cast aluminium body, a hooded top that directs light downwards, and an integrated 6W 3000K LED behind a polycarbonate lens. The light casts a warm white beam onto the ground directly below the fitting, creating a pool of illumination without spilling upwards into the night sky.

Designed for exterior wall mounting on porches, garage doors, pathways and garden borders, the Freyr provides functional task lighting that helps with navigation around entrances and walkways after dark. The downward-only beam makes it suitable for dark-sky zones where upward light pollution is restricted. The IP54 rating protects the internal LED module from dust ingress and splashing water from any direction, allowing the fitting to be mounted in exposed positions without additional weather protection.

The die-cast aluminium construction gives the fitting structural rigidity and corrosion resistance, while the graphite polyester powder coating provides a durable finish that resists fading under UV exposure. The 150mm square face and 72mm projection keep the fitting compact against the wall, reducing the risk of accidental contact on narrow paths. The horizontal louvre detail on the face panel softens the industrial profile and adds visual texture when the light is off.

What does the IP54 rating mean?

IP54 means the fitting is protected against dust ingress (not fully sealed but sufficient for outdoor use) and against splashing water from any direction. It can be mounted in exposed positions on external walls but should not be used in areas where it would be directly hosed down or submerged.

Can the LED be replaced?

The 6W LED is integrated into the fitting rather than a replaceable bulb. The LED has a rated lifespan of approximately 25,000-30,000 hours, which equates to over 10 years of typical outdoor use at 6-8 hours per night.

Does the light shine upwards or downwards?

The Freyr casts light downwards only. The hooded top prevents upward light spill, making it suitable for dark-sky locations where light pollution regulations restrict upward-facing beams.

How is it wired?

The fitting is mains-wired to 230V. A qualified electrician should install the light, connecting to an exterior circuit via a weatherproof junction box or through-wall cable entry. The fitting does not include a plug or sensor.
