Description

The Freya is a 430mm crystal table lamp base built around a faceted crystal column rising from a polished silver plinth, topped with a silver-finished lamp holder and inline switch. The base accepts a standard E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately) and is designed to be paired with a separate shade — the lamp is sold without a shade fitted, allowing buyers to choose their own fabric, pleated, or drum shade to suit the room.

Designed for bedside tables, console tables and occasional table positions in living rooms and hallways, the Freya base pairs traditional crystal detailing with a relatively compact footprint. The 130mm diameter plinth and 430mm total height suit smaller surface areas without requiring a large shade to balance the proportions. The inline switch on the clear cable allows the lamp to be turned on and off without reaching for a wall switch, making it practical for bedside use.

The faceted crystal column catches and reflects light when the lamp is illuminated, creating sparkle and refraction across the metal finish. The polished silver finish on the base and lamp holder provides a cooler metallic tone than brass or gold alternatives, pairing with contemporary greys, whites and cooler-toned interiors. The crystal is lead-free optical glass, machine-cut with flat facets that give sharper light refraction than moulded or pressed glass alternatives.

No. The Freya is sold as a base only, allowing you to pair it with a separate shade of your choice. Diyas produces a matching pleated shade (ILS20234) which is shown in the product image but sold separately. Standard E27 lamp holder fittings accept most clip-on or screw-fit shades.

What bulb does it take?

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this base with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for bedside or living room use.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use a dimmable E27 bulb and pair the lamp with a compatible table lamp dimmer or trailing edge dimmer switch. The inline switch on the cable is an on/off switch, not a dimmer control.

How tall is the base with a shade fitted?

The base itself is 430mm tall. Adding a typical 200-250mm drum or pleated shade brings the total lamp height to approximately 630-680mm, which suits bedside tables and console tables in most room configurations.
