Description

The Freida is a 2 light crystal wall light built on a polished chrome backplate with a white organza drum shade suspended in front of the bulb fittings. Strands of faceted round crystal beads cascade from the top of the shade and below it, ending in elongated hexagonal crystal drops that catch and refract light as prisms. The two E14 bulbs sit behind the organza, which diffuses the light evenly while the crystal strands add a decorative shimmer.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms, hallways and bedrooms where a wall-mounted decorative light source is preferred over a ceiling pendant, the Freida works as accent lighting on chimney breasts, alcove walls, or either side of a bed as paired sconces. The 200mm projection from the wall and 350mm width suit standard residential wall spaces without protruding into circulation routes. The polished chrome frame reflects ambient light from other sources, giving the fitting presence even when unlit.

The white organza shade is a finely pleated fabric that softens the E14 bulb glow while maintaining enough translucency for the crystal strands to remain visible through it when lit. The chrome backplate conceals the wiring entry point and mounts to a standard wall fixing. The Freida is part of Diyas Lighting's wider Freida collection, which includes matching ceiling pendants and flush fittings for coordinated schemes across adjoining rooms.

Is the Freida dimmable?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable E14 bulbs and connect the wall light to a compatible dimmer switch on the mains circuit. The fitting itself is compatible with dimming but requires both dimmable lamps and a dimmer to function.

What bulbs does it take?

The Freida takes two E14 small Edison screw bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to complement the white shade and chrome finish.

How far does it project from the wall?

The fitting projects 200mm from the wall once mounted, measured from the backplate to the furthest edge of the shade. The crystal drops extend slightly beyond the shade when hanging, adding approximately 50-80mm below the base of the drum.

Can it be fitted as a pair either side of a bed?

Yes. The Freida is commonly used as paired sconces on either side of a headboard or chimney breast. When ordering two for symmetrical installation, check that both arrive from the same production batch to ensure the crystal and shade tones match.
