Description

The Franklin is a 300mm diameter industrial pendant light with a spun metal dome shade finished in mid-tone grey, suspended on a black fabric-covered flex cord from a matching grey ceiling pan. The shade houses a single E27 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately) and directs light downward through the open base, making it a downlighter rather than an ambient source.

Designed for task lighting over kitchen islands, dining tables, breakfast bars and work surfaces, the Franklin works best when hung 700-900mm above the surface to provide concentrated light without glare. The 2150mm flex cord is adjustable on installation, allowing the pendant to be shortened to suit ceiling heights from 2.4m upward. The grey metal shade is press-formed from a single sheet with visible radial tooling marks left as a design feature, giving each pendant a subtly different surface texture.

The cool grey finish pairs with industrial, mid-century and Scandi-inspired interiors where neutral tones dominate, and the black flex cord provides tonal contrast without introducing strong colour. The shade weighs approximately 0.8kg and can be installed as a single pendant or arranged in multiples of two or three over longer surfaces. The metal construction handles heat from incandescent and halogen bulbs up to 60W, though most users pair this with a 6-10W warm-white LED bulb for daily use.

The Franklin takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for task lighting over dining tables and kitchen islands.

Can the drop height be adjusted?

Yes. The 2150mm flex cord is adjustable during installation, allowing the pendant to be shortened to suit your ceiling height and the surface it's lighting. The minimum drop is 299mm from ceiling to shade base.
