Description

The Franklin is a 300mm cream dome pendant with a spun metal shade suspended on a black flex cord from a matching cream ceiling pan. The dome shade measures 162mm deep and houses a single E27 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately, maximum 60W), directing light downwards through the open base while the cream powder-coated finish reflects ambient light upwards from the inside surface.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables, breakfast bars and utility spaces where retro diner aesthetics fit the interior scheme, the Franklin provides direct task lighting in a compact footprint. The 2150mm cord is adjustable on installation, allowing the pendant to hang anywhere from 299mm to 2349mm below the ceiling rose depending on the application and ceiling height. Typical kitchen island installation sets the shade 700-800mm above the worktop.

The spun metal construction gives the shade a clean, uniform finish without seams or joints visible from below. The cream powder coat pairs with mid-century, industrial and contemporary kitchens that use warm neutrals or contrast schemes. The black flex cord runs through a vented collar at the top of the shade, allowing heat from the bulb to dissipate without discolouring the cord insulation. The matching cream ceiling pan integrates cleanly with white or off-white ceilings.

What bulb does the Franklin take?

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for kitchen or dining applications.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The 2150mm cord is adjustable during installation, allowing the pendant to be set between 299mm and 2349mm drop. Once installed and the excess cord concealed in the ceiling void, the drop is fixed unless you re-access the ceiling rose to adjust the cord length.

What ceiling height is needed?

For a kitchen island or dining table, the shade typically hangs 700-800mm above the surface, which suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. Lower ceilings can accommodate the Franklin if the cord is shortened to maintain safe head clearance.
