Description

The Fox is a wall-mounted pendant light with a double-layer shade system: an outer transparent glass cube enclosing an inner bronze mesh screen, both suspended on an adjustable chocolate brown fabric cable from a rectangular chocolate brown metal backplate. The E27 lampholder sits inside the mesh screen, so when lit the bulb glows through both the mesh texture and the clear glass outer layer, creating a layered diffusion effect.

Designed for bedside positions, hallway accent lighting, and reading corners where a pendant drop from the wall is more practical than a fixed shade, the Fox offers an adjustable drop range from 35cm to 75cm. This allows the fitting to be set lower for task lighting over a side table or raised higher to act as ambient wall wash. The backplate projection is 25cm from the wall, giving the shade clearance to hang without touching the wall surface. The chocolate brown finish on the metalwork provides a warm, grounded tone that pairs well with exposed brick, timber cladding, and warm-toned painted walls.

The mesh inner shade is made from fine metal mesh with a bronze tone, giving an industrial texture that softens and diffuses the direct light from the bulb. The transparent outer glass cube measures approximately 20cm wide and encases the mesh without touching it, creating an air gap that prevents heat transfer to the glass. The combined weight of 1.6kg requires secure wall fixing into a solid wall or into a stud on plasterboard installations. The Fox is rated IP20 for indoor dry locations only.

What bulb does it take?

The Fox uses a standard E27 Edison screw bulb up to 20W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb at 6-8W and 2700K to complement the bronze mesh and chocolate brown metalwork.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The fabric cable allows the drop to be set anywhere between 35cm and 75cm during installation. The cable can be re-adjusted later by loosening the backplate and re-threading the cable to the desired length.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No. The Fox carries an IP20 rating, which limits it to indoor dry locations only. It is not rated for bathroom zones or outdoor use.

What fixing is required for the backplate?

The 1.6kg weight requires secure wall fixing. On solid brick or block walls, use wall plugs and screws. On plasterboard, the backplate must be fixed into a timber stud or use heavy-duty plasterboard fixings rated for the load.
