Description

The Fort Smart Kit 5 is a wireless burglar alarm system built around a WiFi-enabled hub with GSM backup, a pet-immune PIR motion sensor, a door/window magnetic contact and a four-button remote control. The hub connects to your home WiFi network (2.4GHz only) and allows full arm/disarm control and monitoring via the Fort smartphone app, with no monthly subscription fees or monitoring contracts required.

Designed for homes, flats, small offices and outbuildings, the system supports up to 32 wireless sensors and accessories on the 433MHz RF frequency, with an 80m open-field transmission range between sensors and hub. The hub itself contains a 95dB built-in siren and a backup battery providing up to 8 hours of standby time during mains power cuts. The optional GSM slot accepts a standard SIM card (not included), allowing the hub to send SMS alerts and remain operational if WiFi drops.

The pet-immune PIR ignores movement from animals up to approximately 25kg, reducing false alarms in homes with dogs or cats. The door/window contact uses a two-part magnetic sensor to detect when a door or window opens while the system is armed. The remote control provides quick arm/disarm without needing to open the app, with separate home/away modes and an SOS panic button. Installation is wireless throughout — the hub plugs into mains power, and all sensors run on batteries, so no hard-wired cabling is needed between components.

Does the system require a monthly subscription?

No. The Fort Smart Kit 5 operates entirely through your own WiFi connection and the free Fort app. There are no monthly monitoring fees, no contract lock-ins, and no third-party services required. You control and monitor the system directly from your smartphone.

Can I add more sensors later?

Yes. The hub supports up to 32 wireless 433MHz devices, including additional PIRs, door/window contacts, smoke detectors, remote controls and external sirens. Expansion sensors are sold separately and pair to the hub via the app.

What happens if my WiFi goes down?

The hub includes a SIM card slot for GSM backup. If you insert a standard SIM card (not included), the hub will send SMS alerts and remain controllable via text message if WiFi drops. The backup battery keeps the hub operational during power cuts for up to 8 hours.

Will the PIR trigger on pets?

The PIR is pet-immune up to approximately 25kg. It ignores movement from dogs and cats below this weight when installed at the recommended height and angle. Larger dogs or pets jumping onto furniture directly in the sensor's field of view may still trigger the alarm.
