Description

The Fort Smart Burglar Alarm Kit 4 is a wireless home security system centred on a WiFi-enabled hub with GSM backup, supplied with four PIR motion sensors, two door/window magnetic contacts, and two four-button remote controls. The hub connects to a 2.4GHz WiFi network for app-based control and monitoring, with an optional SIM card slot providing GSM mobile network backup if the WiFi connection drops.

Designed for residential properties up to medium-sized homes, the kit covers typical entry points and high-traffic areas out of the box. The four PIR sensors monitor movement in hallways, living rooms, and stairwells, while the two magnetic contacts fit to external doors or ground-floor windows. The hub supports up to 32 wireless devices on the 433MHz RF band with an 80-metre open-field transmission range, allowing the system to be expanded with additional sensors, contacts, or remotes purchased separately.

The hub houses a built-in 95dB siren and a backup battery providing up to eight hours of standby time during mains power cuts. Activation, deactivation and zone monitoring are controlled through the Fort smartphone app (iOS and Android), with no ongoing subscription fees or cloud service charges. The two remote controls provide arm/disarm functionality without needing to open the app, with buttons for home mode, away mode, emergency SOS, and disarm.

The hub measures 320 x 203 x 92mm and mounts to a wall or sits on a surface near a mains power outlet. Each PIR sensor and door contact runs on batteries (included) and communicates wirelessly with the hub, so no cabling is required between devices. The system does not include a SIM card — users wishing to enable GSM backup must supply their own compatible SIM with an active data plan.

Does the system require a subscription?

No. The Fort app provides full control and monitoring without ongoing fees or cloud service subscriptions. The only optional cost is a SIM card with data plan if you want GSM backup when WiFi is unavailable.

What WiFi does it need?

The hub requires a 2.4GHz WiFi network. It does not support 5GHz WiFi bands. Most home routers broadcast both 2.4GHz and 5GHz — ensure your router has 2.4GHz enabled and connect the hub to that network during setup.

Can I add more sensors later?

Yes. The hub supports up to 32 wireless devices on the 433MHz RF band, so additional PIR sensors, door/window contacts, smoke detectors, or remotes compatible with the Fort system can be paired to the hub after installation.

How loud is the siren?

The built-in siren produces 95dB, comparable to a typical domestic smoke alarm. This is audible throughout most homes and intended to alert occupants and deter intruders, but may not be loud enough to be heard by neighbours in detached properties.
