Description

The Fort Smart Alarm Kit 3 is a wireless burglar alarm system built around a WiFi-enabled hub with GSM backup, three passive infrared (PIR) motion sensors, two door/window magnetic contacts, and two four-button key fobs. The hub connects to a 2.4GHz WiFi network and sends alerts to the Fort smartphone app when any sensor is triggered, giving remote arming, disarming and monitoring without subscription fees.

Designed for residential and small commercial premises, the system covers typical entry points and movement zones in a 2-3 bedroom property or small office. Each PIR sensor detects motion across an 80-metre open-field RF range on 433MHz, while the door/window contacts trigger when the two-part magnet separates on opening. The hub houses a built-in 95dB siren that activates on alarm, and a backup battery provides up to eight hours of standby if mains power fails. The GSM backup requires a SIM card (not included) and allows the hub to send SMS alerts when WiFi is unavailable.

The system supports up to 32 RF devices in total, allowing additional PIR sensors, door contacts, smoke detectors or panic buttons to be paired with the hub as coverage needs grow. The two key fobs each carry arm, disarm, home and SOS buttons, giving one-touch control at the door without needing the app. All components arrive pre-paired in the box, so installation involves mounting the sensors, plugging in the hub, connecting it to WiFi via the app, and optionally inserting a SIM card for GSM backup.

Does this require a subscription or monitoring contract?

No. The Fort system operates independently through the smartphone app with no monthly fees or third-party monitoring contracts. All alerts go directly to your phone via WiFi or GSM.

What WiFi network does it need?

The hub requires a 2.4GHz WiFi network. It will not connect to 5GHz-only networks. Most dual-band routers broadcast both frequencies, so check your router settings if connection fails.

Can I add more sensors later?

Yes. The hub supports up to 32 RF devices in total. Additional Fort-compatible PIR sensors, door contacts, smoke detectors, panic buttons and sirens can be paired through the app as needed.

What does the GSM backup do?

If WiFi fails or the broadband connection drops, the hub can send SMS alerts via a mobile SIM card (not included). Insert a standard-size SIM with an active SMS plan into the hub to enable this feature. The hub will automatically switch to GSM when WiFi is unavailable.
