Description

The Forleyet Plate is a round, shallow decorative plate in a polished nickel finish, made from metal and worked all over with a hammered surface. It measures 25cm across and 2cm high, with a gently raised rim around the edge. At 0.36KG it is easy to lift and move between rooms. The hammered dimples catch light from every angle, so the surface glints rather than reading as one flat mirror, and that is what gives a plain metal plate real character.

We see it as a catch-all for a hallway console, a dressing table or a bedside cabinet, gathering keys, rings, watches or a few small ornaments into one tidy spot. On a coffee table or a sideboard it gives a loose group of objects a frame, and the silvery tone sits comfortably beside glass, white ceramics and pale or dark wood alike. It is a piece for indoors, and it is meant purely for display: the plate is not for food use, so keep it for trinkets and decoration rather than serving.
