Description
The Focus S is a 15cm white aluminium wall light with twin GU10 fittings arranged vertically inside a cylindrical housing, casting light both up onto the ceiling and down towards the floor. The 5.2cm diameter cylinder projects approximately 7cm from the wall once mounted, with light escaping through open ends at top and bottom rather than through the body.
Designed for hallways, staircases, contemporary living rooms and bedrooms, the Focus S provides accent lighting rather than primary illumination. The up-down configuration creates wash effects on walls and ceilings, adding depth to narrow corridors or breaking up long expanses of wall in open-plan spaces. The compact footprint suits areas where a traditional shade or bracket would intrude too far into circulation space.
The white powder-coated aluminium finish resists chips and maintains colour consistency under UV exposure better than painted steel equivalents. The IP20 rating confines use to dry indoor areas — not suitable for bathrooms, kitchens or outdoor installation. Each GU10 socket accepts bulbs up to 10W (sold separately), giving control over light temperature and beam angle depending on the chosen lamp.
The fitting mounts to a standard back box with two fixing points concealed behind the circular wall plate. Cable entry is through the rear of the housing, allowing the cylinder to sit flush against the wall without visible cable runs. The aluminium construction keeps the total weight under 400g, suitable for plasterboard walls with appropriate fixings.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Focus S takes two GU10 bulbs up to 10W each, sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED GU10s between 3W-6W and 2700K-3000K for hallway or accent lighting. Beam angle choice affects the spread of the up-down wash — narrow beam (25°) creates defined pools of light; wide beam (60°+) gives broader wall coverage.
Can it be used in bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating means the fitting has no protection against moisture ingress. It is suitable only for dry indoor areas such as hallways, living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms.
How far does it project from the wall?
The 5.2cm diameter cylinder projects approximately 7cm from the wall once the rear mounting plate is fixed. The circular wall plate behind the cylinder is slightly larger in diameter to cover the back box.
Is the light dimmable?
Dimming depends on the GU10 bulbs you fit. If you use dimmable LED GU10s and pair them with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer, the fitting will dim. Non-dimmable bulbs or incompatible dimmers will not work.
