Focus S Up & Down Wall Light - Matte Gold

The Focus S is a 15cm cylindrical wall light in matte gold aluminium with two GU10 fittings that cast light both upwards and downwards. The dual-direction beam creates symmetrical pools of light on the wall above and below the fitting, highlighting architectural features or creating visual rhythm when installed in a series along a hallway or corridor.

Designed for residential and hospitality installation where accent lighting is needed without ceiling fixtures, the Focus S suits hallways, bedroom walls as reading lights, living room feature walls, and hospitality spaces needing directional wall wash. The 5.2cm diameter keeps the fitting compact against the wall, while the 15cm height provides enough separation between the upward and downward beams to create defined pools rather than overlapping circles of light. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations.

The matte gold finish on the aluminium body has a brushed texture that softens reflections and pairs with warm brass hardware, oak and walnut timber, and warm-toned stone and ceramic. The fitting takes two GU10 bulbs (sold separately), allowing the installer to select the colour temperature and beam angle that suits the application. A narrow 38° beam creates focused vertical bands of light; a wider 60° beam gives broader wall wash coverage.

What bulbs does it take?

The Focus S requires two GU10 bulbs with a maximum 10W rating each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations use LED GU10 bulbs between 5-7W, choosing either 2700K-3000K for warm white or 4000K for neutral white depending on room context.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is not protected against moisture ingress and must only be installed in dry indoor locations away from direct water contact.

What spacing is recommended when installing multiple units?

For hallway installation, spacing the fittings 1.5-2m apart creates continuous wall wash without gaps between the light pools. The exact spacing depends on the GU10 beam angle chosen and the ceiling height.

Does the beam angle affect the wall wash pattern?

Yes. A narrow 38° GU10 bulb creates focused vertical bands of light that extend further up and down the wall. A wider 60° beam gives broader coverage but shorter throw distance, creating overlapping pools when multiple fittings are installed close together.
