Description

The Focus S is a single recessed spotlight in white powder-coated aluminium, measuring 52mm in diameter with a 123mm recess depth. The cylindrical housing mounts flush to the ceiling on a circular recessed plate, with the spotlight head protruding approximately 30mm below the ceiling line once installed. A 360° swivel mechanism allows the GU10 lamp to be aimed in any direction after installation.

Designed for directional accent lighting in residential, retail and hospitality settings, the Focus S works where ceiling voids allow a minimum 125mm clearance above the plasterboard. The compact 52mm aperture makes it suitable for low ceilings and narrow spaces where larger downlights would dominate. The recessed mounting reduces glare compared to surface-mounted spotlights, as the lamp sits partially recessed within the housing. The spotlight accepts any standard GU10 LED or halogen bulb up to 10W (sold separately).

The white aluminium finish provides a neutral ceiling accent that pairs with contemporary, Scandinavian and minimalist interiors without adding visual weight. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only — kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, offices and retail floor areas. The aluminium construction dissipates heat from GU10 lamps more effectively than plastic housings, extending bulb lifespan when paired with appropriate LED fittings.

What ceiling void depth is required?

The Focus S requires a minimum 125mm clearance above the plasterboard to accommodate the 123mm recess depth. Measure your ceiling void before ordering if you are unsure whether sufficient depth is available.

Can the spotlight be aimed after installation?

Yes. The lamp head swivels 360° on its mounting, allowing the beam to be directed to walls, artwork, shelving or other features once the fitting is wired and the ceiling closed.

What bulb does it take?

The Focus S takes a standard GU10 twist-and-lock bulb up to 10W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED GU10 between 5-7W and 2700K-3000K for accent or task lighting.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating restricts the Focus S to dry indoor locations only. For bathrooms, zones 1 and 2 require IP44 or higher rated fittings. Use the site filters to find IP-rated alternatives suitable for bathroom zones.
