Description

The Focus LED 32mm honeycomb light filter is a snap-fit aluminium accessory designed to reduce glare and narrow the beam spread of compatible Maytoni Focus LED track lights. The honeycomb cell structure blocks light travelling at wide angles while allowing axial light to pass through, reducing the visible brightness of the LED source when viewed from off-axis positions and creating a more controlled, directional output.

Designed for gallery, retail and residential track lighting installations where direct viewing of the LED chip causes discomfort or where tighter beam control is needed to highlight specific objects or surfaces. The filter snaps onto the front of the Focus LED spotlight head without tools, allowing it to be added or removed during commissioning or when lighting requirements change. The black aluminium finish recedes visually when fitted, keeping attention on the lit surface rather than the fitting itself.

The 32mm diameter matches the aperture of the Focus LED spotlight series, and the 3mm depth adds minimal projection to the front of the luminaire. The aluminium construction dissipates heat away from the filter face, preventing warping or discolouration under continuous use with LED sources. The honeycomb pattern consists of small hexagonal cells, each acting as a miniature baffle to block off-axis light rays while maintaining high on-axis transmission.

Frequently Asked

Which Focus LED models is this filter compatible with?

The 32mm diameter is designed for Maytoni Focus LED track spotlights with a matching 32mm aperture. Check the specification of your existing Focus LED spotlight to confirm compatibility before ordering.

How does the honeycomb filter reduce glare?

The honeycomb cells act as baffles, blocking light rays travelling at wide angles while allowing light travelling straight down the axis of each cell to pass through. This reduces the visible brightness of the LED when viewed from the side, making the source more comfortable to look at while maintaining output in the intended beam direction.

Does it reduce light output?

Yes, slightly. The honeycomb structure blocks some of the light that would otherwise spread at wide angles, so total lumens reaching surfaces outside the main beam are reduced. On-axis output in the centre of the beam remains high, but peripheral spill light is cut.

Can it be removed once fitted?

Yes. The filter snaps onto the front of the Focus LED spotlight and can be removed by hand without tools, allowing you to switch between filtered and unfiltered output depending on the lighting requirement.
