Description

The Fluxis is an 80cm diameter flush ceiling light with an integrated LED and a matt black metal outer ring surrounding a satin polycarbonate diffuser. The LED sits behind the polycarbonate panel and casts 3000K warm white light evenly across the ceiling plane without visible lamps or hot spots.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.2m and 2.6m where a pendant would hang too low, the Fluxis provides general ambient lighting across 15-25m² spaces including living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and open-plan kitchen-diners. The flush profile projects approximately 50-60mm from the ceiling, making it compatible with standard joisted ceilings and plasterboard installations. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor areas away from bathrooms and direct water exposure.

The black metal outer ring provides a defined edge against white or light-coloured ceilings and contrasts with the translucent white diffuser panel. The satin polycarbonate finish softens the LED output and reduces glare when viewed from below. The integrated LED is non-replaceable but carries a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux, reflecting the Italian manufacturer's confidence in LED longevity at this output level.

Is the Fluxis dimmable?

No. The integrated LED operates on non-dimmable mains power only and cannot be paired with dimmer switches without risk of flicker or damage to the driver circuit.

What room size does the 80cm version suit?

The 80cm diameter is designed for rooms between 15-25m² floor area — typically a 4m x 5m living room, a 3.5m x 6m open-plan kitchen-diner, or a large bedroom. Smaller rooms may find the fitting visually dominant; larger spaces may need two fittings or supplementary task lighting.

How is the diffuser cleaned?

Turn off power at the mains. Wipe the satin polycarbonate panel with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid spraying water or cleaning fluid directly onto the fitting.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting provides no protection against moisture or water ingress and must only be installed in dry indoor rooms.
