Description

The Fletcher is a 559mm (22") flush ceiling light combining an ivory faux silk drum shade with a polished chrome finial and a white acrylic diffuser. The 262mm fitting height sits close to the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with low ceilings or restricted headroom where a drop pendant would encroach on vertical space.

Designed for living rooms, dining areas, bedrooms and entrance halls, the Fletcher provides ambient light through three E27 bulbs (sold separately, maximum 60W each) which diffuse through the white acrylic layer before passing through the ivory fabric shade. The result is an even, soft light distribution across the room rather than focused downlighting. The flush mount fixes directly to a standard UK ceiling rose with no visible chain or cable run.

The polished chrome finial at the base provides a reflective accent against the matte ivory fabric, pairing well with chrome door furniture, radiator valves and contemporary fittings in transitional and modern interiors. The faux silk shade has a fine weave that appears opaque when the light is off but becomes translucent when lit, revealing the internal diffuser structure. The 559mm diameter gives enough spread to serve as a primary light source in rooms up to 4m x 4m.

Is the Fletcher suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 262mm fitting height means the light sits close to the ceiling with minimal projection into the room, making it suitable for standard UK ceiling heights of 2.3-2.4m and for rooms where vertical clearance matters.

What bulbs does it take?

The Fletcher uses three E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, maximum 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 8-12W and 2700K-3000K for ambient room lighting.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs you choose. If you use dimmable LED bulbs and pair them with a compatible LED dimmer switch, the Fletcher can be dimmed. The fitting itself does not restrict dimming.

Can the shade be cleaned?

The faux silk fabric can be dusted with a soft brush or vacuumed on a low setting using an upholstery attachment. For deeper cleaning, check the care label if present or test a damp cloth on an inconspicuous area first, as some faux silk fabrics water-mark.
