Description
The Flareon is a 200mm rectangular outdoor wall light with a brown powder-coated metal body, housing four integrated LEDs that deliver 25W of 3000K warm white light through horizontal slots on the underside. The box-shaped design directs light downwards as wall wash, with minimal upward spill, making it suitable for pathway lighting, porch entries and patio walls where controlled illumination is needed without light pollution.
Designed for exterior installation on brick, render and timber-clad walls, the Flareon carries an IP54 rating for protection against dust ingress and water spray from any direction. The 100mm projection from the wall gives clearance for the light to wash down a 2.4-2.7m high wall without creating harsh shadows directly below the fitting. The brown finish sits comfortably against timber cladding, brick and stone, blending into natural surroundings rather than standing out as a feature fitting.
The integrated LED array runs at 3000K, offering a warm white tone that renders brown and terracotta surfaces accurately without the blue-grey cast of cooler LEDs. The metal construction withstands coastal salt air and UV exposure better than plastic housings, though the brown powder coat will fade gradually over years of direct sunlight. At 200mm wide, the Flareon suits medium-sized wall sections — narrower than 150mm and it risks looking oversized; wider than 300mm and multiple fittings at intervals give more balanced coverage.
Four separate LED chips spread across the internal reflector provide more even light distribution than a single central LED, reducing the risk of a concentrated hotspot directly below the fitting. The non-dimmable driver runs on standard 230V mains, requiring a direct feed rather than compatibility with conventional dimmer circuits.

Frequently Asked
Can this be used in exposed coastal locations?
The IP54 rating protects against water spray and dust, and the metal construction handles salt air better than plastic. However, coastal environments accelerate corrosion on all outdoor fittings — expect the brown powder coat to show weathering over time. Annual inspection and touch-up with metal primer and paint extends service life.
Does the light shine upwards as well as downwards?
The horizontal slots on the underside direct light primarily downwards as wall wash. There is minimal upward light leakage, making the Flareon suitable for installations where upward spill would cause light pollution or illuminate unwanted areas.
What height should it be mounted at?
For pathway lighting, mount at 1.8-2.2m above ground level. For porch entries and patio walls, 2.4-2.7m gives adequate downward wash without the fitting being at eye level when standing directly beneath it.
Is the LED replaceable?
No. The LED array is integrated into the fitting and not user-replaceable. The LEDs are rated for 25,000+ hours of operation, equating to approximately 10-15 years of typical evening use before noticeable degradation.
