Description

The Flare is an 8-light chandelier built around a gold-finished metal frame set with faceted smokey glass prisms and clear crystal accents. Eight E14 bulb fittings (sold separately) sit among the layered tiers of glass, each positioned to cast light through the surrounding prisms and create refracted patterns across walls and ceiling.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and drawing rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Flare measures 60.8cm in diameter and carries an adjustable drop from 74.7cm to 160.2cm. The chain suspension allows the chandelier to be set 80-100cm above a dining table or 2-2.2m above floor level in a hallway, depending on ceiling height and room proportions. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor spaces only.

The glass prisms alternate between smokey grey and clear faceted crystal, creating a visual contrast that becomes more pronounced when lit. The gold frame provides a warm metallic accent that pairs with brass hardware, warm timber furniture and traditional interiors. Each tier of prisms is fixed to a circular metal band, with the largest tier at the base measuring approximately 60cm across and the upper tiers stepping inward to create the tapered profile visible in the image. The combined metal frame and glass give the chandelier a substantial presence suitable for rooms of 20-30m² floor area.

The chandelier uses eight E14 bulbs up to 40W each, sold separately. Most buyers pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to highlight the gold frame and glass prisms without harsh glare.

Can the height be adjusted after installation?

The drop is set during installation by adjusting the chain length. Once fitted, the chain can be shortened or lengthened by an electrician if room layout or furniture placement changes, but this requires removing the ceiling rose cover to access the chain fixings.

What ceiling height is needed?

The chandelier works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. For a dining table the fitting typically sits 80-100cm above the table surface, which requires a 2.8-3m ceiling when using the minimum 74.7cm drop setting.

How is the glass cleaned?

Switch off the power at the mains before cleaning. Use a dry microfibre cloth to wipe each glass prism gently. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal frame or allowing water to run into the bulb fittings.
